RONALDO MISSING FOR REAL

It seems Real Madrid will have to do without their premier player Cristiano Ronaldo in the upcoming Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

The Portuguese striker couldn’t get through the training session of the team yesterday. He withdrew in the middle which was enough to suggest that all was not good with his fitness.

Ronaldo had injured himself in the first leg of the quarter final tie against Borussia, but, it was not believed to be a serious injury and it was considered certain that he would be back for the return leg, but, it isn’t looking to be the case.

Ronaldo has been in great nick right through this season. He has performed well in all the competitions. So, it’s obviously a blow for Real to lose him before an all important game, but, because of the fact that the Los Blancos had won the first leg against Borussia by 3-0, they would not be under that much pressure even without Ronaldo.

However, the Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has not completely ruled out the possibility of Ronaldo taking part in the match. He told the reporters that the final decision would be taken tomorrow.

Speaking to the press earlier today, Ancelotti said, “Cristiano trained a little bit today. He is obviously not 100% at this point of time. He’s been provided the treatment. Let’s see. We would probably reach any conclusion by tomorrow.”

If Ronaldo doesn’t get totally fit, Real Madrid might not risk him considering the fact that there is one more big game coming up in about a weeks’ time i.e. the final of the Copa Del Rey.

Real had been beaten in the final of the Copa Del Rey by their local rivals Atletico Madrid last season.
